Final "School Week" of 2011!

We are into the final stretch before our first long vacation of the school year.  While we are getting excited for some time off, it is important that everyone stays focused over the next four days of school.  We have some major projects going on in all classes now, and the work being done will be a significant portion of the Term 2 grades.  Here's a look at what each class is doing.

Period C:
-Students are working on their poetry unit.  Right now, we are analyzing poems as a class, and students will be choosing a poem of their own for their poetry analysis.  These papers will be due after break.  Students have details on deadlines in their poetry packet calendar.
-Independent Reading projects are due on January 5th (that is the Thursday after break).

Period D:
- Students are wrapping up a series of short papers this week.  We will be in the computer lab for a few days to finish up our writing workshop.  So far, students are producing some great work!  All assignments must be turned in by Thursday 12/22.

Period E/G:
-Students are beginning a two week writer's workshop.  Each student will be producing three short process pieces during this time.  This means pre-writing, rough draft, revision/editing, and final draft.  Class time will be devoted to the writing process, but work will also need to be done outside of school. All pieces are due by January 10th.
-Independent Reading projects are due on Monday, January 9th.

Have a great week!
