Group 1:
Is the tree just a metaphor for the unstable relationship between Gene and Finny and lack of trust they have?
Why doesn't Gene help Finny or encourage him to join him in studying?
Is Finny dead? Is that good or bad?
Group 2:
Did Gene bounce the branch on purpose?
Is there an untold conflict or a past conflict between the characters that is causing the current situation?
If Finny is not dead, what will the impact of the tree incident be on their relationship?
