We are beginning new units all around this week.
In Period C, we are starting our journey through Homer's Odyssey. We will be focusing on the epic poem, epic hero cycle, and two major writing assignments throughout the unit. One will be a short story based on a hero and the hero cycle. The other will be a personal narrative/memoir focusing on an important/significant event in their life.
In Period D, we are moving into our short story unit. The unit will culminate with students writing a short story of their own, following basic plot structure and specific short story elements.
In Period E&G, we are beginning a non-fiction unit, where we will read a few short essays and articles and focus on expository writing.
Also, a reminder that we have the Blue Team Basketball game/can drive on Tuesday, November 22nd after school. We are also collecting food for turkey baskets. Please drop your items off in Mr. Tracey's room so we can reach our goal of five baskets!
